Meet Our Founder—Mireille Pegu
Sewing has been my passion for as long as I can remember. From crafting my own designs to helping others create theirs, I’ve always found joy in the process of turning ideas into reality. But what inspires me most is seeing others experience that same confidence and excitement as they take their first steps into the world of sewing.
I started Sew Smart because I noticed how many beginners feel overwhelmed—unsure where to start, afraid of making mistakes, and without the right tools or guidance. I wanted to create a space where sewing feels simple, fun, and empowering. I particularly experienced the idea of investing in good tread. The thread broke way too often while I was sewing which was sometimes a bit discouraging. Additionally I must acknowledge that pressing seams as one sew gives a better result at the end ...Quite some practical and helpful tips anyway-
